Community
~By Shari
“Boardroom” strides, jacket lining flashing like a peacock's tail.
“Shop girl” slinks, heels clicking, huge sunglasses hiding what she really thinks of herself.
“Homeless” slumps, ashamed yet holding out his newspaper – ensuring we see him - though we turn away.
“Lonely Housewife” skulks, alone, in her group of high end consumers, terrified of what her life is becoming.
And me, observing.
We are community.

Heart & Home
~By Somebody
Ivy climbs the warty pebbledash,
gutters and drainpipes clamour with leaves
whilst the garden has crumbled
into nettles and thorns and the clutter
that cluttered inside the walls once:
broken cabinets, broken ceramics,
and the window panes are shattered,
the rooms gutted, the doors unhinged and
the ceilings are a mess of moss and mould.
Home is where the heart is.
gutters and drainpipes clamour with leaves
whilst the garden has crumbled
into nettles and thorns and the clutter
that cluttered inside the walls once:
broken cabinets, broken ceramics,
and the window panes are shattered,
the rooms gutted, the doors unhinged and
the ceilings are a mess of moss and mould.
Home is where the heart is.
